Support 1500 vulnerable children in South Africa

Summary

Help GraceWorld in transforming the lives of 1500 orphaned, disadvantaged, and vulnerable children across South Africa. Aged between 6-24 years, these children come from diverse backgrounds including changing families, informal settlements, townships, and villages. By providing essential life skills and instilling hope, we are not only making an immediate impact but also building a brighter future for South Africa.

Challenge

The stark realities of crime, drug abuse, poverty, HIV, school dropout, unemployment, and a pervasive sense of hopelessness are significant challenges facing children in North- West and Gauteng. Our organization equips these children with the resilience needed to overcome often horrific life circumstances and to build upon their successes. Our goal is to ensure they emerge into adulthood as compassionate leaders dedicated to helping others achieve their dreams.

Solution

We offer crucial support through the provision of daily school breakfasts, dignity packs (making sure that our girls don’t stay away from school because of the lack of sanitary towels), and toiletries. Additionally, we distribute free books to promote literacy-a pressing issue, as many children in South Africa struggle with reading. Empowerment is a key focus of our program; we utilize mentorships and peer support to encourage children to make informed decisions in their lives.

Long-Term Impact

Over the past decade, we have positively impacted the lives of over 9500 children. Notable achievements include: – A reduction in drug usage among our participants. – A decrease in school dropout rates. – A remarkable matric pass rate of 97% to 100%, with many achieving distinctions. By providing essential resources such as school uniforms and scholarships, we have kept more children in school. We are committed to changing the landscape of South Africa because every child is our child.
