THE SCRIPTURES – The Bible is the inspired word of God (inspired equally in all parts) and the revealed will of God. The Bible is inerrant in the original documents, and God-breathed. We accept it as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. (I Corinthians 2:10-14, II Timothy 3:15-17, Hebrews 4:12, I Thessalonians 2:13, II Peter 1:21).
THE GODHEAD – There is one true Godhead comprised of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All are co-equal and co-eternal. (Matthew 28:19, John 14:16,26, Romans 1:19-20). Jesus Christ, God manifested in the flesh, is the second member of the Godhead. We believe in the resurrection of His crucified body; in His ascension to heaven; in His present ministries in heaven; and in his future literal return to the earth. (John 1:1-3,3:16,8:58, 10:30,14,17:5,18,20:28; Colossians 1:15, 2:9, Matthew 1:21-23, Philippians 2:5-8; 1 Corinthians 15:1-20; Galatians 4:4; Colossians 1:14, 15-17; 2:9; 1 Timothy 2:5; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:1-3, 6, 8-12; 4:15; 13:8; 1 Peter 1:1; 2:22; 1 John 2:1-2; 3:16; 4:10, 5:20; Revelation 1:17-18; 19-20).
MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION – We believe that the account of creation is to be understood historically and literally and not allegorically or figuratively. Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin and spiritual death came into the world. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, gave his life and shed his blood to redeem and restore man back to God. The Bible describes God as absolutely all powerful and in His absolute power, He gave man a free will to reject the salvation that He has provided. It is God’s will that all would be saved and that none should perish. God foreknows, but does not predetermine any man to be condemned or saved. God permits man’s destiny to depend completely upon man’s choice. (Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 5:12-21, 3:10, 23-26, Matthew 20:28 I Timothy 2:4; II Thessalonians 2:13; I Peter 1:2; II Peter 3:9, John 6:64,65; Acts 10:34; I Corinthians 1:21; Ephesians 1:5-14; Romans 8:29-30, 9:30-32).
THE HOLY SPIRIT – We believe that the Holy Spirit is God and that He has come to reveal and glorify Christ, to convict sinners of sin, righteousness, and judgment, to regenerate, indwell, seal, and baptize believers into the body of Christ. All believers are entitled to, and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is a gift from God as promised by the Lord, Jesus Christ. With this comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial physical evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit himself gives utterance and by the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service. (Matthew 3:11, John 14:16-17, 26, John 16:7, 7:37-39, Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4-9, 2:4,38-39, 10:44-46, 11:15-17, 19:1-7; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:9,10; 6:19, 12:1-31; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 1:13-14; 2:22; 4:30; 5:18; 2 Thessalonians 2:7; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Titus 3:5; Hebrews 9:14; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 1 John 2:20, 27).
SALVATION – On the cross, Jesus Christ became sin and sickness, providing both salvation and healing for all mankind. (Psalm 103:3, Romans 6:23, II Corinthians 5:21, Colossians 2:13-14,1 John 2:2, Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24). The sole condition for receiving salvation is faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died a substitutionary death on the cross for man’s sin and rose bodily from the dead (John 3:16-18; 6:47; Acts 16:31). To believe in Jesus (“he who believes in Me has everlasting life”) is to be convinced that He guarantees everlasting life to all who simply believe in Him for it (John 4:14; 5:24; 6:47; 11:26; 1 Timothy 1:16). At the moment of belief, Christ imputes His righteousness to believers and keeps them secure eternally.This saving transaction between God and the sinner is simply the giving and receiving of a free gift (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 4:10 ; Revelation 22:17 ).Salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone and not by human works (whether past or future); however, our works are evidence of our faith and will determine our rewards in eternity. (Romans 14:10-12, II Corinthians 5:10, Romans 3:28, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5-7, James 2:18, 1 Corinthians 3:12-15).
WATER BAPTISM – Baptism in water is by total immersion; is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. Water baptism is not a requirement for salvation. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection. (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12, Acts 8:36-39, 16:31-34).
LORD’S SUPPER – The celebration of the Lord’s Supper by eating of the bread and drinking of the cup is a remembrance of Jesus. (1 Corinthians 11:24-32, Luke 22:19-20, Matthew 26:26-27,29, John 6:32-35, 48-58).
JUSTIFICATION – We believe that justification is an act of God by which He declares righteous those who, believe through faith in Christ alone. We agree that salvation (justification) is by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. This righteousness is apart from any virtue or work of man and involves the placing of our sins upon Christ and the imputation of Christ’s righteousness to us. This redemption is for all sin (past, present, and future). (Romans 8:30,33, Luke 13:3, Acts 3:19, Romans 10:9-10, Philippians 2:11, Romans 3:22-26, 1 Peter 2:24, 1 Corinthians 1:30, 6:11, 2 Corinthians 5:21).
SANCTIFICATION – The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe that every believer is sanctified unto God by justification and is therefore declared to be holy. This sanctification is a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing instantaneously at the time of regeneration and yet continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return. Therefore, sanctification is both positional and increasingly progressive. A believer is brought progressively closer to the likeness of Christ through obedience to the Word of God and the empowering of the Holy Spirit. (Hebrews 12:14, Ephesians 4:24, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, II Corinthians 3:18, Philippians 3:12-14, 1 Corinthians 1:30,32, 6:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Hebrews 13:12, 10:10,14, Acts 26:18, 20:32, 1 Peter 1:2, II Timothy 2:21-22).
SECURITY – We believe that all the redeemed once saved are kept and sealed by God’s power and are therefore secure in Christ forever. Every child of God possesses eternal life, being justified by faith, and is safe and secure for all eternity; and he cannot lose his salvation. However, a Christian can, through sin and disobedience, have diminished fellowship, joy, power, and testimony. He may lose eternal rewards, and may incur the Father’s chastisement. Relationship is eternal, being established by the new birth in Christ; the quality of our fellowship, however, is dependent upon obedience to the Lord through His Scriptures. Assurance of everlasting life is confidence that one is eternally secure simply by faith in Jesus. Assurance of everlasting life is based only on the promise God makes in His Word that everyone who believes in Jesus Christ alone possesses everlasting life (John 5:24; 1 John 5:9-13). Good works, which can and should follow regeneration, are not necessary for a person to have assurance of everlasting life (Ephesians 2:10 ; Titus 3:8 I Corinthians 3:11-17; Hebrews 12:5-11; I Corinthians 5:1-5; I Corinthians 11:30-32).
THE CHURCH AND ITS MISSION – Jesus Christ is the head of the church. The Church is the body of Christ and is composed of all who receive Christ through faith. (Ephesians 1:22-23, Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 5:23, I Corinthians 12:27) Each believer is an integral part and has a vital function. (1 Corinthians 1:2, Ephesians 2:19-22, 1 Corinthians 12:12-20). The church should praise and glorify God in evangelism, in edification of believers, and in worship. (Ephesians 3:21, 1:12, II Timothy 4:2, 1 Peter 3:15, Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 10:17, II Corinthians 5:19-20,1 Corinthians 14:26, Colossians 3:16, Ephesians 5:18-20, Galatians 6:1-2, Hebrews 10:25,1 Thessalonians 5:12-22, II Corinthians 9:7, 1 John 3:17).
THE BIBLICAL DISPENSATIONS – We believe that the Scriptures interpreted in their original, literal sense show God’s plan and purpose of the ages, His way of dealing with mankind in divinely planned successive dispensations or time periods which define man’s responsibilities to God. The child of God is not under the dispensation of Law but under the dispensation of grace. We are Saved by grace. (Romans 6:14,15; Romans 11:6; II Corinthians 3:17).
THE RETURN AND MILLENNIAL REIGN OF JESUS OUR LORD – Our blessed hope: Jesus is coming again to gather all his saints. (Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, John 14:2-3, Titus 2:11-14) We believe in the personal, pre-tribulational return of our Savior. This return of Christ at the Rapture of His Church occurs just prior to the Tribulation Period on earth. Following the tribulation, Jesus Christ shall return to earth with his saints to rule and reign for one thousand years. After this, there will be a new heaven and a new earth as the scripture promised. (1 Corinthians 15:51-52, Romans 11:25,27, I Thessalonians 5:9-11; I Thessalonians 1:10; II Thessalonians 2:1-8; Revelation 3:10; Luke 21:36; Revelation 4:4, II Thessalonians 1:7, Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-7, 21:1-5).
FINAL JUDGEMENT AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION – Those who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will suffer eternal separation from the Godhead. They will burn in the lake of fire. (Matthew 10:33, John 3:15-16,36, Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 19:20, and 20:10-15).
